Lost Knowledge:
How to Eat for Health
I love researching ways to heal. It is my passion. The payoff is when it works and you see miracles before your eyes. But maybe they aren’t really that amazing...maybe our amazing bodies always had this capability just not the necessary raw materials.
I believe after my 12 years of research that most of us are malnourished and that is why we cannot fight off disease and environmental toxins.
Our culture moves really fast and wants convenience and quick fixes. Real nutrition takes some time and effort. In the end it is what makes all things possible.
Finding out what real nutrition is, is a task all by itself. In the old days, people cultured their food in order to preserve it. These cultures were live, beneficial organisms that our bodies need to have every single day. They help our intestines do their job and stay healthy. And the intestine is where a lot of nutrients are absorbed and toxins removed.
In our society, they way we eat promotes candida. Sugar, whether in the regular form or in high glycemic carbohydrates are part of the problem. Add to that, dead processed foods with no beneficial bacteria or enzymes and you have the “recipe for disaster”.
Doesn’t matter whether it is organic or not. Don’t get me wrong, I insist on organic, but there are a lot of processed, carbohydrate-loaded organic foods out there.
Soy, which is very popular, is a terrible offender. It inhibits thyroid function and is not really digestible for the body, not to mention the excessive phytoestrogens. Most of us are already estrogen dominant.
Juicing raw vegetables sounds great, but some vegetables need to be cooked in order to disable some elements in them that actually inhibit the thyroid and other vital organ systems.
Hardly any of us know the truth about fats... especially saturated ones. Misinformation has been rampant over the years and our declining health shows that we bought into it. Fats, alone are a huge part of my recovery and not the typical ones you read about. Lots of the popular vegetable fats actually cause problems. It is all out there, if you look and are open minded. I struggled with being open minded.
I tried everything and nothing really worked until I learned about eating the way we used to in the “old days”.
I am not a doctor or a nutritionist. This article is my opinion which was formed from all that I have learned.
